Dielectric and AC Breakdown Properties of SiO2/MMT/LDPE Micro–Nano Composites

Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is an important thermoplastic material which can be made into films, containers, wires, cables, etc. It highly valued in the fields of packaging, medicine, and health, as well cables. The method improving dielectric property materials by blending LDPE with inorganic particles filler has been paid much attention researchers. In this paper, low-density used matrix, montmorillonite (MMT) silica (SiO2) are selected micro nano fillers, respectively. changing order adding two kinds particles, a total five composite were prepared. crystallization behavior crystallinity composites observed, ?r tan? changes each investigated frequency temperature, power (50 Hz) AC breakdown performance measured. differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) X-ray diffraction (XRD) results show that higher than LDPE. Experimental data spectra constants micro–nano added MMT lower LDPE, loss improved particles. experimental temperature permittivity SiO2-MMT/LDPE still at low level under condition 20~100 °C. terms field strength, SiO2/LDPE increased about 17% compared matrix strength MMT-SiO2/LDPE 6.8% 4.6%,
